Luca Oneto, born in 1986 in Rapallo, Italy, completed his BSc and MSc in Electronic Engineering at the University of Genoa in 2008 and 2010, respectively. In 2014, he earned his PhD in Computer Engineering from the same institution. From 2014 to 2016, he worked as a Postdoc in Computer Engineering at the University of Genoa, where he then served as an Assistant Professor from 2016 to 2019. Luca co-founded the company ZenaByte s.r.l. in 2018. In 2019, he became an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Pisa, and from 2019 to 2024, he held the position of Associate Professor in Computer Engineering at the University of Genoa. Currently, he is a Associate Professor in Computer Engineering at the University of Genoa. He has been coordinator and local responsible in numerous industrial, H2020, and Horizon Europe projects. He has received prestigious recognitions, including the Amazon AWS Machine Learning Award and the Somalvico Award for the best young AI researcher in Italy. His primary research interests lie in Statistical Learning Theory and Trustworthy AI. Additionally, he focuses on data science, utilizing and improving cutting-edge machine learning and AI algorithms to tackle real-world problems.

Luca Oneto, nato nel 1986 a Rapallo, Italia, ha completato la sua laurea triennale e magistrale in Ingegneria Elettronica presso l'Università di Genova rispettivamente nel 2008 e nel 2010. Nel 2014, ha conseguito il dottorato in Ingegneria Informatica presso la stessa istituzione. Dal 2014 al 2016, ha lavorato come assegnista in Ingegneria Informatica all'Università di Genova, dove successivamente ha ricoperto il ruolo di Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato dal 2016 al 2019. E’ co-fondatore della spin-off ZenaByte s.r.l. nel 2018. Nel 2019, è diventato Professore Associato in Informatica all'Università di Pisa, e dal 2019 al 2024, ha tenuto la posizione di Professore Associato in Ingegneria Informatica all'Università di Genova. Attualmente, è Professore Associato in Ingegneria Informatica presso l'Università di Genova. È stato coordinatore e responsabile locale in numerosi progetti industriali, H2020 e Horizon Europe. Ha ricevuto prestigiosi riconoscimenti, inclusi l'Amazon AWS Machine Learning Award e il Premio Somalvico per il miglior giovane ricercatore AI in Italia. I suoi principali interessi di ricerca sono nella Teoria dell'Apprendimento Statistico e nell'IA affidabile. Inoltre, si concentra sulla scienza dei dati, utilizzando e migliorando algoritmi all'avanguardia di apprendimento automatico e intelligenza artificiale per affrontare problemi reali.
